Frankie Corsano discusses putting his own spin on Laurent Wolf’s legendary 2008 hit, getting support from some of the biggest names in the industry, and more.
Aditya – Hello Frankie, we’re glad to have you for this interview. We’re almost towards the end of this year, how was this year for you?
Frankie – Hello everyone, thank you so much for having me. This year was very intense and exciting for me. There was a lot going on with a lot of highlights and I’m almost sad that it’s ending, but I’m looking forward all the more to the new year. That will be great!
Aditya – Your spin on the Laurent Wolf’s legendary 2008 hit sounds stellar, what’s the creative process behind this tune?
Frankie – Thank you for the compliment and that you like it. Previously, I heard the song very often and played it as a DJ in the club, because the song for me brings a great energy and a positive vibe. Last year my wife came to me after hearing the song from Laurent Wolf – No Stress on the radio and she had the idea that I should record a new song. I locked myself in my studio and worked all night! That’s how the project “No Stress” was born.
Aditya – The track indeed sounds fresh now, do we expect more remakes in the near future?
Frankie – I wanted to produce “No Stress” on my version for today’s EDM scene and I definitely had a lot of fun doing it. For this reason, I would also like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to my team and Sirup Music! I definitely have more cool cover ideas and I’m already looking forward to realizing them.
Aditya – You’re heavily supported by industry giants like Tiësto, Blasterjaxx, Hardwell, Dannic, Firebeatz, and more. How does that feel?
Frankie – It’s a great and indescribable feeling to be supported by DJs and legends like Tiesto, Blasterjaxx Hardwell as well as other artists. At the beginning, I could never have imagined and dreamed of it. I mean, you as a DJ play their songs, visit these artists at parties or festival and suddenly they play your songs. That is just fantastic. It was for me the confirmation that I am on the right track.
Aditya – Not just that, you’ve performed across the largest stages around globe, how does that feel?
Frankie – Playing in front of an audience at various international parties and festivals has always been a great feeling for me. I love to make people happy through my music, to have a good time together. It gives you so much energy and strength. When you have excitement about an event, you know you love your job and it means a lot to you.
Aditya – Who are your influences and why?
Frankie – There are so many unique artists that I get inspired and influenced by them.
Since the birth of my daughter, I have found a new source of inspiration. She has raised my level even more.
Aditya – What’s your studio setup like?
Frankie – My studio is located at my home. Since I can at least save me the way as well as when I have ideas, can go straight into the studio and implement. For years, I’ve been working on Ableton Live, although I learned Logic in music production school. I’m also very familiar with Fruity Loops, which is why I was able to choose the more suitable software for my needs.
My current plugins that I use very often are Serum, Sylenth1 and Nexus. In my studio I also have instruments of various instruments that I can also play. However, I am still learning how to play the guitar.
I adapt my set up year to year, and more and more, because I am also more and more challenged.
Aditya – Which is your favorite venue to perform at and why?
Frankie – It’s hard to say, because there are really many events that I have played and would like to perform. At the moment, I have received some requests for the new year 2023. For the coming season, I am still planning with my team and we hope that I can perform at most events.
Aditya – How would you describe your music?
Frankie – I describe my music on current inspirations and what I love at the moment. It is my musical journey between Big Room, Future House and Bass House. I always try out new creations and flow in my projects and implement my idea.
Aditya – Lastly, what are your thoughts on AI?
Frankie – Difficult to say, as AI will be very helpful for certain areas, yet I think it could be a problem for society as well. I hope it can as a support for all of us and no more.
