Earlier this year, Dyson announced they were working on a pair of air-purifying headphones, but not many details were revealed.

Now, we know more, including the hefty price tag and release date. Known for their vacuum cleaners and hair dryers among other things, British company Dyson is now dabbling into a new space with the Dyson Zone headphones.

Announced earlier this month, the Dyson Zone are noise-canceling and air-purifying headphones which will be released in the US, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and Singapore in March ‘23 and will hold a price point of $949.

In a breakthrough use of technology that Dyson has come to be known for, The Dyson Zone combines a pair of headphones with a face-protecting air purifier. The device uses air compression technology to suck in fresh air through the ear cups, which is then filtered through mesh carbon filters and pumped to the visor.

The headphones will have a battery life of up to 50 hours of audio with active noise cancellation but that will drastically drop to up to 4 hours when purification is added on to the active noise cancellation. The MyDyson app paired with these headphones will allow for a personalized experience.
